Image Acquisition

We develop and employ various methods for imaging the human brain, as well as other areas of the body and specimens. In addition to our own research, we have had the honor of handling the imaging of Patient H.M. and Koko the Gorilla.

In-vivo MRI imaging

Our lab is involves in a multitude on projects involving in-vivo MRI imaging, such as the Framingham Heart Study Project, BANDA,

Ex-vivo MRI imaging

The highest resolution whole-brain ex-vivo scanning has been done in collaboration with Dr. Edlow. Check out the video of the 100 hrs long scan at the impressive 100 um resolution at 7 Tesla.

Histology

Our lab includes a wet lab where histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) is undertaken.

Optical Imaging

Our lab also includes optical microscopes such as Optical Coherence Tomography/Microscopy (OCT/OCM), Polarization-Sensitive OCT (PSOCT) and Two-Photon Microscope.
